Jesus in the Pages of the Books: The prophecy of the true lamb that God shall provide for his sacrifice; all other sacrifices before him were figures of the sacrifice "Jesus" until he should come. And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of (many Bible teachers have concluded this is where Solomon built the first Temple. I believe it may very well be so. And I must point out; in my mind the question arises whether this day is the same day of the month as God instructed Moses to establish the Passover as described in Exodus 12:1 through 12:6, about 500 years later?); and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. (The LORD God saw the heart of Abraham; that he fully intended to sacrifice his only son; honoring the covenant to please God) And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad (Isaac), neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
