A superb golf book!

I am 66 years old and this year my game has been going downhill. My local handicap has climbed from a 19 to a 25 since April. Over the years I have read at least 100 golf instructional books and tried everything. Wednesday I had a 107 and I felt like quitting golf. That evening I was looking at more golf instruction books and came across this one; written by an opera singer who also teaches golf. I almost did not buy it, but when I looked through it the simplicity of his method appealed to me. I have always had the problem of "paralysis by analysis". This book so clearly explained how to set up properly with a logical reason why he recommends each aspect of the set up. Correct setup and starting the swing by moving the left shoulder (for right handers) forward towards the ball seemed to be all that you had to do (later in reading the book I saw also the mention of starting the downswing by shifting the hips forward). I immediately tried the setup and swing back by moving my shoulder forward for a level turn and felt it would be difficult to swing incorrectly. Also, I would not have enough to think about to get my usual "paralysis by analysis". Today Friday, I tried the set-up and single thought of starting the swing with a forward movement of my left shoulder (I am right handed) and had a very consistent round with about 20 yards more distance on my drives. I shot a 90, 17 strokes better than on Wednesday. Not bad for my first try using Roberto Borgatti's method. I highly recommend this book for its simplicity, clear instructions and logical basis. It also covers putting, chipping, sand play and includes exercises and drills. I did try its sand trap recommendations from a difficult lie in a green side sand trap and put the ball about two feet from the pin (I was in the sand only once). A shot I normally can't hit at all. What I love most is the feeling that the swing is really very simple and that once I start the swing I need not think about it from this setup. No more "paralysis by analysis"! I think the value of this book is that its method is both simple and correct and allows each individual to use his or her unique swing within these so solid fundamentals. I highly recommend it.

Back to basics

It has been said golf is a game of basics. Then this book is a classic. I have never seen them so well explained and shown, without an excess of explanation. Bravo Roberto.I will bet you can sing like Caruso too.

The 15th club in my bag!!!

I keep a copy of this book in my bag because it simplifies things for me. I have gone from a 12 handicap to a 5 after reading the book and adapting my shots accordingly. I also like the emphasis on golf focused fitness and felxibility. Many golfers don't consider physical training to be important but it allows the body to get to the proper spots. Thanks Roberto. The Swing You Will Trust

I met Roberto and took some instruction from him. It was the best and most helpful advice I had ever had. I was so impressed with his teaching techniques that I could not wait to read his book. His book is the best, most logical and easy to adopt instruction that is available. After you read it you will lower your scores appreciabley. I highly recommend it to biginners and pros alike, for that matter anyone who enjoys Golf. Tom Constable

A Swing You Can Trust

This is a book you can trust! Or---the idiot's guide to how not to play golf is to not read this book. I've played and studied the game and the swing from the best for over 45 years. I loved Manuel de la Torre--who I saw live in a two day clinic, Gary Hogan, the book Six Days to Better Golf, and the work of Bertholy, to mention just a few. I've been around the block and have a decent game, but I'm not afraid to look at new information. I liked the title, A Swing You Can Trust, and I found it the best golf book I have ever read. I could go on and on, but you might as well read it yourself. I'm buying a couple of extra copies; one for my son, a three handicap golfer who hits his drives consistently over 300 yards, and another for a friend who just recently discovered this wonderful addiction. I want to collar people in the street and tell them to read this book. It's accurate, well written, beautifully and clearly illustrated, and not padded with usless filler information. There is vital, useful information I've not seen elsewhere. I don't write book reviews, but this is one for which it's worth making an exception. Get it. You'll enjoy the book and a better, more confident game on the course as well as the practice range.
