A Devastating Memory

Have you ever been in denial about your true feelings that you had for another person? Carrie, for instance, tried to get rid of her memories of her loving brother Allen, but it seems that the feelings always comes and goes. She always had nightmares, or dreams about her brother's death that occurred on the hill, around her parent's farmland. Once she learned to live with the fact that her brother's dead and was able to put her memories aside, a guy that helped around the farm started reminding her of her brother. She hated that feeling so much. She would show that guy that she actually did not like him being around, but truthfully, everyone knew that Carrie was not that kind of person. Even though she neglects that guy, he still comes back and tried to help her out with her problems, but he still got rejected. At the end, it turned out that she was confused about her feelings towards him, and they winded up becoming closer and closer each day. As for Carrie's feelings for that certain guy, the story between the two of them made me feel pretty sad. I've experienced such feelings like that before, too. I've been confused about how I felt towards a certain person, but everything turned out right at the end. This story drew my attention to it after a little while. The conflicts in the story, or the complications were the ones that really drew my attention to this selection. It started when I started to realize how that guy never intended to give up on Carrie. He kept trying to help her and while putting all his effort into helping her, he still gets rejected. That was very disappointing to me, but I guess it was something that the author wanted to happen in the story. Overall, I'd say the author did a very good job on writing this book. I personally enjoyed reading this book and it was interesting because it dealt with some experiences that I've been through. It was such a coincidence that I chose a selection that associated with me. Nonetheless, I thought that the passage in the reading was mostly about not taking other people that cared for granted because you might be making the biggest mistakes in your life, and that's what Carrie did, but she was lucky enough to learn what she did wrong, and was given another chance.
