1.3 METHODOLOGY

1.3.1 Sources of Data

The data used for the study are secondary. The data were collected

from the official directory and Data Base of the Centre for Monitoring

Indian Economy (CM1E) namely PROWESS.

The published annual financial reports of the companies have

also been collected from The Southern India Mill Owners Association

(SIMA). The reports of the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, World

Economic Forum, Annual Reports of Ministry of Textiles, Compendium of

Textile Statistics, Compendium of International Textile Statistics and

various textile magazines and journals have also been used as data sources.
