A Study on Dreams of Blinds

Dreams have constantly been interesting phenomena for the viewers as well as the researchers. Dreams epitomize an important aspect of human experience, which embroils our sensory, cognitive, and emotional experiences spontaneously during sleep in a narrative manner. Throughout history dreams and their narration, classification, and interpretation have been of considerable interest to mankind. Because the type of perceptual activities we experience in dreams appear to not be quite the same as that of our waking lives, each dream is a unique mental experience for the dreamer and apparently separated from the laws and rules that oversee the material world. And in light of the fact that dreams can be so vivid, and so unusual, an inconceivable cluster of superstitions, speculations, convictions, theories, beliefs, and various kinds of socio-cultural and religious practices have arisen concerning dreams and many stimulating and fascinating debates have occurred about them over the centuries. A dream is a sequence and assortment of sensory experiences which includes sensory-motor, verbal, cognitive, and emotional contents. Visual and sound-related modalities are more prevalent in dreams rather than other sensory modalities. Motor activity is more frequent and different in dreams; autonomous physical activities like jumping, running, and walking is more common among them. Verbal contents like spoken and written languages, cognitive functions which include planning, reasoning, decision making, memory functioning, spatial abilities, and all other executive functions, can be more intense, and negative emotional experiences are common among dreams. All the categories of dream experiences mentioned above are subjected to many alterations and distortions that are entirely different from walking life.
