John the Apostle was exiled to the Isle of Patmos, a rugged volcanic island off the coast of Asia Minor. It is about 10 miles long and 6 miles wide. He was imprisoned by the Roman emperor Domitian about AD 86-90. He was imprisoned for teaching the Word of God. Trouble comeswhen you preach the Word of God, but God gives you grace to endure. To wit: God brought John in the spirit to give him a panoramic picture of the End Times. The Apocalypse, the Revelation...the Judgment of Christ. Through Calvary we arevictorious...and Revelation is the victory portrayed.It is the last book of the Bible, the 66th book: The number 66 or 6+6=12, which is; "God's perfect manifestation of Himself to His created order". The number 7, perfect completeness is found 52times in the Book of Revelation. Jesus completes Revelation for He is coming again. He is coming again as Lord of Lords and King of Kings; He is coming in victory.
