AGGRESSION Aggressive and violent behavior by one person towards other person is not a new phenomenon. It was accepted by our ancestors thousands years ago and it is still accepted in every society today. Adolescence is the most important period of human life. Aggressive and violent behavior among adolescents today is a big social problem and it needs to pay attention (Johal & Kaur, 2015). Students make number of issues for the parents, classmates, other students, teachers and administration too (Ahsan, 2015). Aggression is a word that we use our everyday life to characterize other's behaviors and perhaps even of ourselves. We say that people are aggressive if they cut off other cars in traffic, if they hit each other, or even when they smash their fists on the table in frustration. But other harmful acts like, the killing of enemy soldiers in war or the injuries that sport players get in rouge game may not be viewed as aggression by everyone. Aggression is so difficult to define, social psychologists, judges, politicians and lawyers have spent a great time to determine actual meaning of aggression (Stangor et al. 2014). In psychology, the word aggression means a range of behaviors that can result in both psychological & physical harm to oneself, others and environmental object. Aggression refers to any behavior that is destructive, hostile or violent. Aggression can be expressed in many ways like; physically, verbally and mentally. Generally, aggression has a potential to damage or inflict injury to the object or target person. Examples of aggressive behavior: throwing objects, property destruction, physical assault, verbal threats & self harming behaviors. Aggression viewed as a negative emotion like; anger, as a motive like; desire to injure others or harm, and as a negative attitude like; racial or ethnic prejudice (Ghosh, 2013). Most of adolescents' aggressive behavior can be seen in school setting such as bullying, spreading rumors, hitting, hurting etc.
