A Strange Kind Of Normal

By James H. Metaphor

Everyone thinks they are the hero of their own story. Or rather, everyone wants to be a hero, in their own story. But not every story needs to focus on some epic heroism, or indeed villainy, when the everyday - the "normal" - can contain just as much wonder and magic. Take care, as you enter a world of everyday stories, in extraordinary circumstances. Meet people going through what may seem like normal problems - ill-advised romance, correcting a mistake, coping with an injury, making a tough choice, getting a message across, or even taking revenge - but turn out to be much more, set in worlds of the fantastic or technologically advanced, filled with strange creatures, powerful magics, advanced machines and myths of old. This collection of short stories features a variety of lengths, with something for everyone, including Gold and Silver winning stories from the Communal Storycraft monthly Competitions, 2018.
