A story about waiting

Due to the impact of coronavirus pandemic government decides to declare a state of national disaster and quarantines the country for sixty days. On the eve of a long-awaited trip to Amanzimtoti for reunion with his fianc , plans of a young doctor are thus put on hold for an indeterminate period. Left with four suitcases, an old Honda Civic sedan and no room to lay his head on, he found himself marooned. His fianc recommends a temporary solution crashing with a cousin in Kempton Park. Set against the backdrop of a small town east of Johannesburg, a story about waiting is a complex account of how a young doctor find himself straddling an intractable xenophobic clash between the town's people and a Nigerian contingent community dominant in the inner city. A complex story of living through a worst time of coronavirus lockdown and the attendant social exclusion the result a story that is complex yet stimulating. No story is perfect. The form doesn't permit perfection it's too random, too complex and multi-layered, too close to the overall messiness of human depravity. Sensitive and heart-breaking generosity of the young doctor is revealed.
