A Steeping of Blood

"Brewed to perfection." --Rebecca Ross, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Divine Rivals

After the jaw-dropping ending of #1 New York Times-bestseller A Tempest of Tea, Hafsah Faizal crafts a deliciously twisty and seductive sequel that will leave readers breathless until the very last page. A romantic vampire fantasy novel for fans of Immortal Dark and Heartless Hunter.

Arthie Casimir has had her tea. Now she's out for blood.

White Roaring is sharpening its fangs after the deadly night that left the city in shambles. The press are dead, the public is calling for justice, vampires are in danger, and amid the turmoil, the Ram announces a celebration.

Still reeling from the bloodshed, Arthie Casimir has no time to mourn the death of anyone, let alone her own. She has no time for love, either, even though it had saved her life. As Arthie navigates new emotions and new allies, she must reassemble her scrambled crew and scrape what little they have left to fight one last time--and she will need to face the ghosts of her past to do it.

In Ceylan.

Bring down the Ram!

I was very excited to get back into this world to see what Arthie and the rest of the gang would do after the resounding defeat and massacre at the hands of the Ram. With the revealing of the White Wolf of Roaring (which I really wanted to know) and his own tragedy, we really get lots of action and danger in this book as they pivot to try again to pull the Ram down. This book does not have the heist quality of the first book, but it remains intriguing and fast paced as we get to see a bit more of where Arthie used to live, plus a search for Jin's parents, and a puzzle piece to be found in this missing vampires. Arthie and Matteo are so good together, both complementing each other, while Jin and Flick figure out their new relationship after Jin had been turned, though that takes a back burner while Flick learns to stand on her own and survive, even with the Ram after her. There are tragedies on the way for all of them but you can see their strength and resolve to make sure that the Ram cannot hurt any more people, be they human or vampire. And boy does the Ram have dark schemes and plans and is willing to do anything to keep her power. I did like this second book best because you get to see the heartbreaking sacrifices made for freedom and while the ending is bittersweet, it seems appropriate for a city full of vampires and humans, tea and blood. And just as a side note, the covers of both books are gorgeous! They really spell out well, the beauty and danger that Arthie is, especially when back by her found family. Long live the Spindrift!
