Few human beings have set foot on the surface of Carrado. Home to a primitive race of sentient beings, it's been designated a Federal Conservancy; off-limits to all but the handful of scientists who are part of CaSM, the Carrado Scientific Mission, and most of them will only ever see the planet from orbit, onboard the orbital research stations. Yet even academics have to answer to the donors and funders who support their work, and so an unprecedented opportunity to film aboard CaSM One is offered; a chance for the Mission to showcase the potential scientific advances being made.
Zia Chaikel and her TV crew aren't thrilled about the job, but work is work and if anyone can find an angle, it's Zia. It's not long before the invitation to visit the orbital space station extends to a surface visit, and then out to one of the field operations. But the jungles of Carrado hold many dangers and the further Zia and her team travel into the unknown, the more exposed they become, until it becomes clear that not everyone who enters the jungle will make it out...
