Put a Song In My Heart

One of the first projects Naomi Judd worked on after giving up touring and traveling due to a personal illness. We are glad she did this project. Her spirit really shines through in this film. Her(Lily's) gentle and feminine heart are a good contrast to Gerald McRaney's brusque and crusty character. It is a story of how she helps Gerald's niece, Fern, heal from past hurt and in the same course changes (Cal)Gerald's outlook on life too. She proves to him that its ok to take off your blinders that we've put on to stay on a straight and narrow road and deviate a little for the greater good of others. And in the end how Fern, Gerald's niece, changes their lives too! Andy Griffith turns in his kind and community-based guy we are so used to seeing for a strict, overbearing, and aging military man. Watch for the changes in his life too! A lovely little made-for-t.v. movie. Formerly sold under the the title of "Holiday Romance" and aired initially on CBS in 1999. Rest assured, this IS the same movie as "Holiday Romance"!! I am glad I was able to finally track this one down. Still sold by Feature Films For Families under the title of A Song For A Season. Something commonly done when a company sells/shares the distribution rights on a title.

A Feel Good Movie....

I am really glad that I finally found this DVD and was able to buy it for my own collection. I loved it when I could catch in on t.v periodically and was disappointed this last Christmas season when I wasn't able to find it on at all. It is one of those movies that has meaning and draws you in. I have to admit that I cry each and every time I watch it.

Song for a season

I just fell in love with the story the first time i saw it. Its a true Christmas feel good film and makes me cry every time i watch it. Ive been trying to get hold of a copy for years unknowing that the title had been changed but finaly ive got a copy on the way i just cant wait for it to come so i could watch it again

Cozy stress- buster Christmas movie

Also is sold on DVD under the title, " A Holiday Romance". Have enjoyed this film over the years during the holiday season. It seems to be just as touching, sweet and enjoyable each time. The actors are all very good, as is the story. It captures the message of the season, love and caring for family, friends and community. Naomi Judd's Lilly Waite is just the kind of teacher you would want to have had, or would want for your child. The often under-rated Gerald McRaney is perfect, as are the entire cast. The small town setting of Bethleheim will make you dream of leaving the suburbs, or city. A perfect 'let's get cozy with a cup of cocoa' holiday movie for the whole family. Also, if you are a teacher, this one of those uplifting films about good teachers.

Totally awesome

"A Song for the Season" is a incredibly sweet story about love, and the healing power of music. This story is touching and the music is unbelievable. The actors did a wonderful job with this moive.
