Jacob Penny is a unique and talented young police officer who often thinks and acts outside of the box and whose only ambition is to become a detective. Jacob soon settles into CID work until together with his detective Sergeant they fall foul of the local police Superintendent who in essence is an evil and corrupt individual. The senior police officer exploits his power not only to accomplish his perverted and disreputable criminal acts but to prevent any interference from investigations mounted against him. Jacob and the sergeant homing in on the Superintendents criminal activities as a result find themselves suspended from duty and in real danger of losing their careers.

The novel is the first in a trilogy of stories all of which focus on Jacob and his new team of investigators who are appointed by British Intelligence to concentrate on investigations pertinent to government establishments. However before this can be accomplished several investigations are bourne out of existing enquiries and work with the American Drugs Enforcement Agency and Dutch police need to be finalised before the team moves on. The stories created by novelist who has himself personal experience of undercover investigations involving Organised Crime both in the UK and Europe are a mix of fact and imagination and are written to appeal to readers of all persuasions., hence the birth of the Special Investigative Service is born.
