Simon, an artist and "normal guy", lost his parents long ago. One day he receives an explosive phone call out of the blue. As it turns out, the person he had considered to be his dad was not his biological father. Rather, his biological father was still alive. Rattled by the news, Simon's life changes dramatically. He embarks on a journey into the past that begins in Canada where he meets his "other" father and some "new" family members. Together with his real father's estranged wife, Anita, he starts exploring the secrets behind what he had perceived as reality for over four decades. The reader is immersed in a dialogue between Simon, Anita, and "the author" himself which reveals a profound conflict about the extent to which the entire truth of the story should be told.
