Harris Wimberly is widowed. It has been three years since the loss of Ruth, and the loneliness and the grieving remain. Now he is at an emotional crossroad. For him to remain solo will not bring his wife back. Nor would picking up his life and trying to move forward into new love bring her back.

It has been four years since the death of her husband. But that time has not eased the pain of loneliness she feels. Besides, her son needs a father figure in his life.

New love is more than possible following the loss of a long-loved spouse. Sometimes love is sweeter which comes later. This story of two widowed people who find each other their loss takes place in a world, though the same as ours, is otherwise very different. Transportation and technology is different as well as are even clothing styles. It is a world of Steampunk. But the emotions of people, the loves, the losses, the hurts, the heartaches and the joys are the same as ours.
