Some authorities suggest that addiction leaves addicts forever mentally and emotionally immature. One of the evidences of immaturity is a lack of self discipline, which is indeed characteristic of most addicts in at least some areas of their lives.For the addict who has turned to Jesus there is no reason to despair as God commands and enables his children to become self discipline. God does not command anything that is impossible. Anyone, including former addicts, can learn to be self disciplined.This volume is about how you need to become self discipline and how that can happen. Self discipline is about control. It is the ability to make choices, to say no to desires and impulses for the sake of something more important. Christians are freed from slavery to sin and are free to make the right choices by means of self discipline. Second, the source of the discipline is internal not external. Being controlled from the inside rather than from an external source is what means to be self disciplined. The ability to self discipline is one measure of maturity. God expect you to become self disciplined.
