A Scratch Made Christian
To look back on my life, I feel as if I'm witnessing the life of someone else.
I see a little girl, trapped in a home full of brokenness, abandonment, and abuse, who I want to rescue with compassion and empathy. I see a teenager who needs a strong warning who then grows into a young woman who is so vile, lost and hateful. That woman is one I can't stand as she stirs up hatred in my heart. She's loud and her presence demands attention when she enters a room. Her speech is vulgar. You can't stop watching her. Even when you don't like what you see.
Finally this woman is brought to her inevitable destruction. Her fantasy world had come face to face with reality. As she snorted the last line, breathing deep and long, blasting her brain cells into oblivion. Seconds later thinking "Oh my God Help " Fear gripped her as she knew it was too late Too late She could see the fire As she was plunging towards it at warp speed.
But... wait... Something is holding her above the liquid hellfire, barely, but still holding her above the flames licking at her feet. It is a string of mercy, and holding the other end is the Author and Creator of mercy. He pulls her away from the fire, reaches into her chest, and pulls out the filthy sin-stained heart. He then replaces it with one that He made especially for her.
"Trust Me", he says, as he sets her on a pathway of hope.
This woman is Clearice Roney... This woman is me and this is my story, open, raw, honest, and certain to stir every emotion within you as you read. Satan can step in and take over your life, as he did mine, but Almighty God can save anyone from even the deepest voids. I share my story to share the truth of God's mercy and goodness. And to offer hope to those who are tempted to give up. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ. He still saves.
