A Scant Bagatelle is a collection of 51 poems written and edited by Curt B. Vevang. Many have been previously published in anthologies and poetry magazines. Seven of the poems have won individual poetry awards.The majority of these poems provide both a wry or sideways look at reality as well as a deeper message to be contemplated. Their intent is to be both very accessible as well as thought provoking. The poems are grouped into interesting sections of Nature, Patriotism, Memories, Compassion, Life's Lessons, and Contemplation. The humorous poems are grouped categorically by Frivolity, Inanity and Insanity.The title, A Scant Bagatelle, comes from another of his poems which emphasizes the impact of a single raindrop, a scant bagatelle, when combined with others in a huge down pour.A single raindrop in random descent is but a trifle, a scant bagatelle.Then en masse they paint the giant redwood,flood the arid land, send great ships to hell.
