In these types of passages, there seems to always be a theme of salvation and obedience for the one who is seeking to do Gods will. In this sermon we get to see a City that was under siege from a hostile enemy who was wreaking havoc, and causing major problems in the lives of God's people. However, God, in this text, uses his new king, David, to come in and rescue them, without them ever calling for a Savior, ever looking for a savior, or ever expecting a savior. This is a must read for the preacher, endeavoring to make a difference while serving in a difficult place.
