Tressa Harlowe's father did not trust banks, but neither did he trust his greedy extended family. He kept his vast fortune hidden somewhere on his estate in the south of England and died suddenly, without telling anyone where he had concealed it. Tressa and her ailing mother are left with a mansion and an immense vineyard and no money to run it. It doesn't take long for a bevy of opportunists to flock to the estate under the guise of offering condolences. Tressa knows what they're really up to. She'll have to work with the rough and rusticated vineyard manager to keep the laborers content without pay and discover the key to finding her father's fortune--before someone else finds it first.Award-winning author Joanna Davidson Politano welcomes readers to Trevelyan Castle, home of the poorest heiress in Victorian England, for a treasure hunt they'll not soon forget.
Excellent read! Took a few chapters to get into, but after that I couldn’t put it down! Beautiful character stories and development. Absolutely did not disappoint. Add all of JDP’s novels to your reading list!
One of the best historical fiction I have read.

This book is hard to put down. Full of intrigue, trust/don't trust situations, suspense, romance, and scriptural challenges. I wish Ginny could have been included more in the plot once she was introduced. It would be fun to have stumbled on such a prize and be able to plan all the good deeds that could result. I recommend the book. Enjoy!

A Rumored Fortune is a mysterious story can you imagine sitting there minding your own business and overhearing about yourself and your family? Now that was not all good stuff - was not all good at all.. You hear how they believe a fortune is hidden in your home somewhere and one of them wants to ------I can't go and ruin it for you but it is an unreal thing to hear - what also you hear is that you are dead - can you believe that? You are sitting close to them and they say you are dead. So what happens? Something amazing - something I just loved - it was incredible - phenomenal - you need to find out for yourself what happens - believe you me you will not be disappointed. I received a copy of the book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all the opinions expressed in this review are all my own.
