A Great Little Handbook

This is a great little handbook I have used for years. There is an Introduction divided into three parts: 1. Proust and the French Novel 2. Marcel Proust the man 3. The literary and social background of the novel. The rest of the work provides a good summary and critical review of the grand opus book-by-book. A conclusion: The esoteric in Proust: symbol and myth. This rather inexpensive paperback is a real gem.
