Beneath a great cottonwood tree, a Man from the West and a Woman from the East discover a shared language in dance, love, and life. Together, they build a home around a central fire they call Love, caring for their single clay pot and the simple rhythms that sustain them. One day, while dancing around the fire, they imagine adding something precious to their home a child.

They plant a tiny seed deep within the Earth, where Mother Earth's roots, microorganisms, and mycelia gently hold it. Day after day, they bring water and watch for sunlight, while the Moon cradles the seed at night. But the seed does not sprout.

As their worry grows, their attention shifts completely toward the seed. They stop tending the fire, gathering water, and dancing together. Their balance begins to unravel. Then, in a moment of sadness and distraction, the Woman drops their treasured cooking pot, and it breaks.
