A Quiet Life: and other short stories (in Very Large Print)

By Stefania Hartley

Easy-on-the-eye very large print.

Twelve humorous and heart-warming short stories about women who step out of their comfort zones and live to tell the tale.

Sister Luce spends her days quietly between the chapel and the kitchen of her convent in the Apennine mountains. The last thing she wants is to accompany the Mother General to a conference and sit on the stage next to all the leading nuns.
Melina hates flying even more than driving. But when her sister in Scotland needs her help, Melina has to choose between sisterly love and her fears.
Mother Vittoria has never aimed for a quiet life, especially now that she aspires to be on the calendar of saints. But when a crocodile escapes the zoo enclosure, she discovers that brave actions don't always come with glory.

Another set of endearing characters who don't achieve greatness, but manage to overcome those little irritations and niggles we all have in our daily lives but don't like to admit to. Hartley's stories are always so relatable, and this collection doesn't disappoint - Sandy Salisbury
