Michael has his own dark demons from the past one being a need for ultimate control. The friendship takes a turn in their first interlude brought on by a sweet turned smoldering foot massage after a night of dancing at his office party. The heat of passion that burns within him is steamy and ignites a new dimension to their relationship as they embark on a powerful love story exploding with sensual adventure awakening Rainie's dormant sexual appetite. Their love grows deeper leading the way to an engagement. Intertwined in this intense but beautiful love story is conflict with Rainie's past, her witness to Cartel activity and an underlying fear of losing herself. She allows this fear to take over momentarily causing her to turn her back on all she loves and run leaving Michael at a loss and completely confused. After checking into a resort on the coast, she drifts off to sleep. Rand enters her dream guiding her back to Michael. The story ends as they exchange vows, but when it's time for Rainie's "I do" she pauses leading to the second book in the trilogy.
