It's no secret that my least favorite place in the house was always the kitchen. Cooking was something I said I'd never do. Fortunately, my husband knew this before proposing marriage and was not the least bit bothered by it. Lucky for me, he loves to cook. He calls me his "princess" and has treated me like one from the start. On our first trip to Disney World, he chuckled at the sight of a little magnet in a gift shop with the words "A Princess Never Cooks". Of course, it has been proudly displayed on our refrigerator ever since. Around our 13th year of marriage, I finally became inspired to at least TRY my luck in the kitchen....starting with a simple omelet. Lo and behold, it was a success! Fast forward to a few months of triumphant attempts at very simple recipes...I began steering my shopping cart toward the kitchen section, intrigued with all the nifty gadgets that I once ignored and now "needed". It's still hard to believe that I've made peace with the most dreaded room in the house, and I actually spend time in there now! This first compilation of recipes came from family, friends, tv, and internet. My husband suggested I entitle it "A Princess Never Cooks". Of course, with the irony of it, I couldn't deny the idea and although I use the word "never" way too much...one thing is certain...I may mess up a recipe or two, but I will never stop being his princess!
