Tourism has both positive and negative environmental, economic and social impacts. The objective of this paper is to provide a policy alternative that seeks to mitigate the negative effects of tourism and enhance its positive effects while combating inequality and poverty. It proposes the development of an integral strategic plan for the implementation of sustainable tourism projects through the granting of microcredits. This tool seeks to reach the most vulnerable populations of society by providing them with access to credit through a self-sustainable programme focused on a high-impact activity that is constantly growing.
