This book is perfect for youth ages 11 through 15. Reading this story will help them understand and deal with (for some) child abuse. All should understand and recognize it particularly those who are the most vulnerable; our children. This is a story to be read in schools, in youth group meetings and in Bible Study classes. This book is for all who need to understand that bad things happen but with God's help, we can make it through as winners and not just survivors. This is a story about a poor child in an abusive situation that appears hopeless. You should read this book if you've never met, became friends with a poor family or child. If you've no idea how abused children live their daily lives, you should read this book. If you've been poor, if you've been abused; you should read this book and understand that no matter the situation you find yourself in, there is a way out. Even if you are around people who do not and will not help, you can make it out. Even if you are around people who go out of their way to make your life miserable, you can make it out. As long as there is life, you can change yours. You can do it yourself, which is hard. You can do it with God, which also can be hard. Both can work, but with God, you will find peace and not the anger and resentment that may eat at your heart for a lifetime. I did it under God's grace even when I did not know it. I did it and I now have peace.
