It's 1955 and Alice Strong arrives at Blackstock Maon. Her eyes are firmly on the prize, a set of antique duelling pistols that have been in the Blackstock family for generations. Luckily for Alice she can be very persuasive, and soon Lord Blackstock is enamoured with her.

She is hoping that a houseful of guests will provide the perfect distraction for her to complete the job. Then a murder occurs, and soon everything that could go wrong does.

As the stakes raise higher Alice comes to suspect that no one is who they appear to be. A murder complicates things even more and now she to use all her wits to stay one step ahead of a clever villain.
