Alcohol and drugs were consuming my life. I was gravely ill. Being offered a chance to attend a rehabilitation centre, I accepted. I wrote a poem per day while attending the centre to help myself cope. This collection of poems reflects the pain, suffering, and despair that substances caused in my life but also the glimmering hope which stood strong even through my darkest hours.
