It is the year...well actually nobody really knows what the year is. The people of Ing are more concerned about their next meal. Unless, of course, it's Game Day. Then their troubles are forgotten for a few hours as the religious bliss that accompanies the Game washes their troubles away. Adam Parkar has no time for the Game. He's too busy trying to finish his favorite fantasy series, The Poem of Dust. One problem. These books are pre-Calamity and the last book in the series is missing the last twenty pages. All of that reading and no closure. An attack on the village of Ing sends Adam, his brother Justin, and his brother's friend Jennifer on a journey north to take a holy pilgrimage to the city where the Game began. This journey will test Adam, Justin and Jennifer in ways they had not imagined as the land outside of Ing proves to be dangerous. While Adam seeks out the remaining pages of the book, Justin and Jennifer will find themselves wrapped up in an internal religious dispute that turns violent. Also, there is a herd of flesh-eating hamsters.
