A while back, I decided to read the Bible --the whole thing-- to see what's really in it, not what some people say is in it. My purpose wasn't religious, but curiosity. As I was reading, I made notes and wrote up my impressions of what I'd found. The result is the two-volume work you see here.I wrote it in the language of everyday speech. My purpose has been to make it both accessible and, whenever possible, entertaining reading. The stilted language of most translations, especially the King James translation, prevents many from just sitting down to read the Bible as a book. I had originally intended to use the title, "The Bible According to Me", but on reflection that seemed presumptuous; hence the present more neutral title. My purpose hasn't been to "refute" or "criticize" the Bible --there's enough of that going around already --but to illuminate its events in a way that can make sense to the average reader, religious or otherwise. I take the Bible on its own terms. Miracles, Angels, events impossible in the physical world, are all a part of it story, that need to be included. I find things to criticize, but that doesn't form the main thrust of the book. This isn't intended as a new version, let alone a new translation, of The Bible. Rather, it's the Bible as seen through me.I hope you enjoy it.
