An intimate portrayal of the Iraq antiwar movement

On February 15, 2003,in hundreds of cities across the world an estimated ten million people demonstrated against war on Iraq, for the first time conferring "superpower" status on the antiwar movement. Author David Cortright, cofounder of the popular Win Without War campaign, writes as an engaged activist who was intimately involved in many of the activities described in A PEACEFUL SUPERPOWER. He offers this story of the making of the movement--organized largely through the internet by several dozen organizations banding together--and assesses the movement's impact and relevance in today's complex world. His easy narrative style combines fact and personal anecdote to make a really interesting read, which I didn't put down until I had completed it. If you are involved or interested in the Iraq antiwar movement, as I am, you need to read this book.
