A Passion for Purpose

I was hooked on this book on the first page! There are 365 devotions to be read once a day throughout the year. I believe it's a book that you will want to hold onto and start again once you come to the last page to glean even more from these pages. The five authors, Kimberly Sowell, Edna Ellison, Joy Brown, Tricia Scribner, and Marie Alston, each take turns with several topics (Spirituality, Scripture study, Worldview, Relationships, Communication, Ministry, Leadership) that are full of God's truth for all woman. There are no days of weeks or dates on the pages so if you miss a day you don't feel behind, you can pick this book up and read and be encouraged at any time! A Passion for Purpose Book Review

They say you can't judge a book by its cover, but that is not the case with this book. The brightly colorful, unique and lovely cover does represent what you'll find in the pages of "A Passion for Purpose." There are FIVE amazing authors bringing God's word to life highlighting spirituality, scripture study, worldview, relationships, communication, ministry and leadership. "A Passion for Purpose" is a great tool: * a) for someone who is just beginning a walk with God but is not sure how to begin having a devotion ('quiet') time. * b) someone who wants to start or end their day with something to ponder from the Word. * c) to keep in your car and be encouraged as you wait in the 'kid-pick-up-line' at school, wait in the waiting room at the Drs. office etc. There are 365 devotions in "A Passion for Purpose", but they're not dated - so no worries starting in in February :). You'll be blessed if you read this devotional book.

A Passion for Purpose

I've always been a big fan of devotionals. And there are certain things I look for when deciding if I like a particular devotional or not. First of all, I like the content to teach me something about the Christian life and still be practical. I also like the devotions to be relatively short so they can be read anytime and anywhere. In my opinion, devotionals should also be attractive and visually appealing. I have found A Passion For Purpose to be all of those things. This book features 365 devotions that cover seven topics: spirituality, Scripture study, worldview, relationships, communication, ministry, and leadership. When I first received this book I thought it was intended for those who participate in missions trips, but it is a book for all women. Each day of our life we are on a mission share the love of Christ with the world and in our neighborhoods. I think A Passion For Purpose is a devotional that will appeal to women in various stages of their daily walk with Christ. These devotions are very practical and well written. Included with each devotion is a Bible verse and a prayer. I think this is a very nice devotional for those who want to learn to enhance their walk and to learn how to serve Jesus better each day.
