Mr. Van Wyck graduated from Tusculum College, Greeneville, Tennessee in 1951 and has more than 50 years experience as a nuclear and radiological engineer covering activities in manufacture of atomic bomb materials, evaluation of large users of radiation and radioisotopes, design and operation of large nuclear electric generating plants, medical college radiological activities and basic nuclear and environmental research. He has served on a number of technical committees and as a technical consultant for both private and governmental agencies. He participated with the National Commission on Radiation Protection (NCRP) and co-authored NCRP Report # 81 entitled "Carbon-14 in the Environment". This background has enabled him to provide a unique perspective of his trip to the Antarctic.
