Venerable Patrick Peyton was an Irish priest known as the "Rosary Priest," who dedicated his life to promoting the Rosary, particularly within families. Born in 1909 in a poor Irish farming family, he faced challenges in his early education but remained committed to his faith. After moving to America in 1928, he worked as a janitor and pursued the priesthood, joining the Congregation of the Holy Cross. Patrick experienced a miraculous healing from tuberculosis through prayer to Mary, leading to his ordination in 1941. He initiated a campaign for Rosary devotion, organizing global rallies and using media to reach wider audiences, famously stating, "The family that prays together stays together." His efforts resulted in the establishment of Holy Cross Family Ministries. He passed away in 1992, holding a Rosary. People can seek his intercession for strengthening Rosary devotion, family holiness, and personal commitments to prayer, despite his lack of official patronage.
