Their lives quickly become entwined as they learn of her colorful life, revealing a horrific event, which became a tipping point into distress, depression, and recovery for her, all the while trying to keep a secret to protect her dear friend and hero.
Historical events related to Southern California and the Santa Susana Pass are weaved throughout the story, including such characters as Juan Flores, a colorful notorious bandito from the early days of statehood, to associates of Charles Manson.
This story revolves around a long forgotten, hidden property, between the Los Angeles County and Ventura County, near the old Santa Susana stage coach road, shown on this overleaf, where wagons and stage coaches had to traverse the deadly "Devil's Slide." An old movie set becomes center stage as the story unfolds.
