Alex Cavanaugh was raised in Sandy Cove, California. His dream was always to grow up and become a cop in his hometown. Right after he graduated high school, he went to the Community College in his town and after graduation, he immediately joined the U.S. Marines and was sent to Afghanistan, where he met his best friend, "Mac" Mcnary.

After Alex's discharge, he went back to Sandy Cove, where he eventually got together with his high school girlfriend, and also ended up being a policeman.

His career path shot skyward because of his keen skills as a cop, and he ended up being promoted to Senior Detective in just a short number of years. Along the way, he had many problems to overcome, but he managed to handle all of them well.
