I enjoyed it all the way through. It's about choices and warm feelings from good relationships.

STORY BRIEF: Kaylee grew up in a small town in Tennessee, raised by her grandmother. After her grandmother dies, Kaylee has dreams for a better life in the big city of Miami. She packs her things and starts driving to Miami where she will live with her cousin Tillie and work as a hair stylist. When Kaylee reaches the small town of Perrish, Florida, her car breaks down and she meets auto mechanic Rick. Kaylee doesn't have enough money for the repairs, so Rick offers to fix her car in return for Kaylee babysitting his daughter Molly for about three weeks. Molly and Kaylee form an immediate loving attachment. Kaylee and Rick are drawn to each other yet they each have reservations. Rick's ex-wife Brenda had also wanted a better life in a big city. Several years earlier, Rick and Brenda went to Atlanta, had a baby and then Brenda left Rick for a richer man. Rick fears Kaylee is like Brenda and will not be happy with a small town auto mechanic who makes a decent living but is not rich. Kaylee is reluctant to give up her dreams of a big city life without ever trying it. A second conflict concerns Kaylee's former boyfriend borrowing her car which was used in a robbery. The thief put stolen gems in a bag in Kaylee's gas tank without her knowledge. REVIEWER'S OPINION: I was drawn to the characters, and I loved the relationships among Kaylee, Molly and Rick. I loved watching Kaylee cook with Molly and sew clothes for her dolls. I was warmed with the comfortable relationship Kaylee had with Emma, a woman she had just met but who offered Kaylee a place to stay and to help her start a hair salon business in Perrish. It was going to be a good life - small town people, good friends, love, and fulfilling jobs for both of them - if Kaylee chose it. The story is about choices. Kaylee's thoughts are shown in the following. Kaylee says to Tillie "If I stay here (in Miami), I might meet someone else. Someone great and I'll forget all about Rick." Tillie answers, "Sure darlin'. That could happen to you just like it happened to me. For ten years I met a lot of someone elses" (but no one that she loved). Although Kaylee and Rick have a couple of passionate sex scenes nicely done, I wouldn't suggest this for readers looking for a lot of sex scenes. Read this for warm feelings about good relationships and good people. DATA: Story length: 247 pages. No swearing language: Sexual language: none to mild. Number of sex scenes: 2. Total number of sex scene pages: 12. Setting: Perrish and Miami, Florida. Copyright: 2009. Genre: contemporary romance. OTHER BOOKS: I've read one other book by Barbara Meyers.
