The third book in the series is out and the tale has developed interesting twists that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. As usual, down in Darragh, Queencess Euphemia continues to plot and is hellbent on getting rid of Queencess Caoimhe. Unfortunately for Euphemia, things aren't as easy as she expects and she has to join forces with the new queencess. Queencess Asenath turns out to be more treacherous than Euphemia and the duo becomes an unlikely team. Niamh and Tighearna Payton are reunited but things begin to unfold in a manner both of them least expect. And an unexpected visitor, in the form of Lady Violet Arlington, joins the ruling clans in Lochleven, leaving Niamh and Payton in a strange place. Violet is not only witty but driven and with the backing of Tighearna Alasdair's wife, the two begin to help shape events in the thriving town working side by side with Mr and Mrs Harvey. Once again, Niamh is thrown into the path of the vicious couple, this stirs up past events. Raibert finds himself on a harvest ship bound for Nnaerfi, his sheltered life seems far away and he looks to the future with as much determination as a nine-year-old can. Nnaerfi turns out to be far worse than anything he imagined, but he must survive if he is ever to see his beloved Aunty Niamh and Aunty Cara again. Getting used to the tunnels and dens of the Fardarrig dwelling is all-consuming and he realises he can't do it alone. Unknown to him, help can be found in strange places. Down south, Tighearna Daithi has plans of his own and sets his mind to fulfil them, gathering support gradually from members of the clan, unknown to Tighearna Shay. In all this, Aoife is not left out, and rather than overcoming her bitterness, it waxes strong and becomes her driving force. Read every exciting and interesting page. I hope you enjoy it. Please leave a review and tell me what characters you would like me to develop and what plots you would like to see as the story unfolds. Thank you!
