A Mist Tale Book 1 - The Genesis

A Mist Tale Book 1 - The Genesis is the first book out of six novels involving the life of a merrow girl and the community she finds herself in. The people in these dwellings are entangled in an epic struggle for freedom and are determined to extricate themselves from the oppressive laws that they're governed by. The story begins with a strange mist leading a fisherman and his close friend Tadhg out to sea on a stormy night. Both of them are drawn by faint cries for help which travel on the howling winds. Their dangerous move to help leads them out into the raging sea, where they rescue this merrow child that is being hunted by a pack of sea soldiers from the Sanairam Trench Kingdom, whose attempt to capture her fails.

Odhran the fisherman adopts the infant, and she begins her life on land, unaware of her powers. Growing up in a society where children are harvested from the poor folk and made to work in the houses of the rich and powerful. Some of these harvested children are used to pay the levy demanded by the evil dwarf king, the Fardarrig Ri. Each dwelling must deliver the number of children requested or live with the fear of being attacked by the Ri. A demand that must be met during the seasonal child harvest. Unfortunately, the children grow up tortured, oppressed and denied basic rights. The story escalates as the struggle for freedom becomes entangled with the life of the merrow child, involving other prominent figures. Thus paving the way to freedom along an emotional and treacherous path. All driven by the movement to stop 'HARVESTRY', in a bid for a better life.
