Brandon is an average middle-aged man when Brandon's brother gives him a railroad crossing sign to hang in his yard that was part of a grisly accident. The sign and Brandon's tragic past become a fulcrum to a dream world filled with ghosts and gods. In the dream world, Brandon catches the attention of a demi-god who recruits Brandon to help lost souls travel the dream world on a mysterious ghost train. His world becomes haunted by spirits waiting to board a ghost train. Each night he loads lost souls onto the train for the keeper of the crossroads. During the day he tries to live a normal life.
