She was startled when he extended a broad hand. "I'm Cole Matthews," he smiled in return, his smile widening as she hesitantly accepted his offered hand and shook it timidly. "I'm your customer today." He held her hand just a moment longer than necessary. "Thanks for the Tylenol, Jillian. I've got a monster of a headache."
"I'm so sorry," she murmured, flustered once again by the tingle in her hand from his warm skin. She tugged her hand away and let it drop into the apron pocket. "Could your headache be because you're dehydrated?"
Cole's brows raised in surprise. "I...I hadn't really thought about it," he answered slowly.
Jillian shrugged. "It can happen. Dehydration is a real thing up here in the mountains." She cleared her throat, suddenly feeling awkward. "Is there anything else I can get for you?"
"Table one " Seth's voice rang through the diner.
