Alberto had no idea where he was, but he was sure he wasn't dead, for the pain that pounded in his head was almost unbearable. He felt like used paper, crumpled and thrown away. Every nerve ending in his body creaked. He remembered the coach losing its direction and being thrown off the dirt road.
He tried to move, but his arm felt immobilized.
- Glad you woke up. - someone muttered beside him and the bed gave way next to him. - My name is Helen. She lit a candle to light the room.
- Water. - He managed to ask and soon a glass was placed on his lips. - Thanks. - He thanked when the water was enough for him. - How many days have I been out?
- Not a lot. - She smiled sweetly and Alberto couldn't contain the heat
