Enriching read, even today

I picked up this book at my college library to skim for material to use in a paper, and just finished reading the whole of it.The author, the husband of an active member of the Women's Lib movement in the 70s, does an excellent job of explaining to us (the male gender) the basics of the Women's Lib movement of the time. His use of logic and humor really brings it to "our level", if you will, and keeps it from being a dull read. Being a guide book, he walks you through it rather than abandon you to lengthy and numerous paragraphs of explaination and leaving you out of your depth, something I really appreciated. Majority of the issues discussed are still relevant today, even after those advancements in gender equality that have been made. Your outlook may not suddenly change, but you will be left with thoughts and an angle of viewing things you might not have had before.I enjoyed this book, learned from it, and came away with ideas and concepts I really wanted to discuss with my lover about her experience with our culture and its gender issues that would not have otherwise occurred to me. If you don't buy the book, borrow it from a library. You will not be dumber for having read it.
