In the hinterlands of an African village, a seventeen years old maiden of exquisite beauty has lofty and lucrative dream of becoming the future screen Queen as an Actress in the popular Nollywood movie industry but she is about to whisked away into marriage by her parents against her wish just when she completed her high school education. The proposed husband is a wealthy man with several mystical stories surrounding him and his source of wealth but he has already influenced Joy's parents with his wealth and they are all in to force their innocent child into marriage. This story is beyond a story. It is a picture of the African life and customs chronicled by child labor, child abuse, child marriage and a definition of womanhood and manhood within the African context and domain. Will Joy survive this or succumb to the age long tradition that has given parents so much power to exert control over their children? Her choice or decision to brave the turbulent waters is what took her into a quagmire of suspenseful silent and lonely road. Will she emerge out of this quagmire or will she sink?
