This novel tells the story of two young people wrestling with drug addiction and the child they had, born addicted. In his fifth novel, Buell once again demonstrates his compassionate interest in ordinary people who show courage and endurance against impossible odds.
John Buell's novel "A Lot To Make Up For" is filled with rich full-bodied characters. The reader easily senses the timidity yet courage of Stan and Adele. The book's colorful discriptions are apt although often a bit too long. Dialogue is well written still the plot drags at times. This book is still interesting enough to make me willing to read more from Mr. BuellBeverly J Scott author of Righteous Revenge
