A look at Arsenal

The present work is a reflection of my doctoral thesis entitled: "xv paschal sermons from North Africa in the 5th century. La collection "Arsenal" du Chrysostome latin: ?dition critique et traduction." I finished writing it in February 1994; but I was only able to defend it publicly at the University of Lubumbashi on June 16, 1995, under the direction of Ordinary Professor F.J. Leroy, who was elevated a year later to the rank of Professor Emeritus. I have therefore decided to publish part of it for two major reasons: not to lose the benefit of all the work that was once done, and to honor the memory of my master. I am therefore publishing the first part devoted to related issues. It is about all this discussion relative to the linguistic problems posed by the fifteen sermons of the Arsenal, to the author of these sermons and to their dating.
