I absolutely love Horowitz and usually find his books sophisticated and thought provoking, however I did not feel the same about this one. I had been waiting a while for the release, so maybe my anticipation and excitement overhyped the book, but I was honestly a bit disappointed. The caliber of writing is not the same as past books and almost seems more juvenile. Toward the middle it was hard to put down, but it took over 100 pages to really get into the meat of the story, all the while Horowitz seems more downcast than usual. Although it seemed like the series was ending, the last few pages set up a great start for the next book, which will hopefully be a bit better than this one.
