The purpose of this small book is to stimulate thought and hopefully encourage positive change in our criminal justice system. The value of this book for those involved in the criminal justice community is that it is written from the unique perspective of one who is sentenced to life in prisonHaving been incarcerated for over 15 years I see and experience firsthand the flaws in the criminal justice system, what works and what does not in rehabilitating criminal behavior and which prisoners have truly turned their backs on the criminal lifestyle. Before writing the two essays of which this book is comprised, the author has never read a single book on criminology or sociology. These essays were written completely from the firsthand experience of being incarcerated and my own efforts at self-rehabilitation and correction.
