A fresh angle on J. Robert Oppenheimer

I've read many books and articles about Oppenheimer, one of the most fascinating people of the 20th century, but this book was fresh and new to me in many ways. Concentrating on the years after 1954, not only regarding Oppenheimer's life and activities, but United States society and politics, it nicely supplements other accounts of Oppenheimer's life, which tend to focus on his earlier years and the Manhattan Project. The author, Mark Wolverton, is a fabulous writer; this historical account is as exciting as a "page-turner" novel. Bravo! Highly recommended. (Aside: The Oppenheimer interview with Edward R. Murrow that is so well described and analyzed in the book can be viewed, being an "extra" on the recently released BBC DVD "Oppenheimer" starring Sam Waterston.)
